Role · Technical Advisor to the CIO.

The problem

IRS2Go is the most widely distributed consumer software the federal government ships, and it carries every constraint at once: security, privacy, accessibility, multilingual support, and a user base with no floor on technical fluency and no option to churn. A commercial team would ship an experiment; here the cost of a bad release is measured in call-center volume and public trust.

Approach

  1. 01

Working across product, engineering, security, and accessibility to define what the app should be rather than what the previous version happened to be.

  2. 02

Applying the same architectural review used for enterprise AI adoption: what the platform must guarantee before anything is layered on top of it.

Outcome

Active engagement. Public detail is intentionally limited.
